Festival features Award Winning guests
The 2017 Southwestern Music Festival featured award winning Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds and opera superstar Raehann Bryce-Davis (pictured left). The University Singers and Festival Choir under the direction of Jonathan E. L. Wall performed the World Premiere of Ēriks Ešenvalds' newest choral work, I Believe. The festival also featured three addition compositions of Ešenvalds, including the North American premiere of Laudate Dominum, for organ & saxohone. The composer who was present for the premiere, spent two days working with the musicians in advance of the performance. Raehann Bryce-Davis was featured as the festival soloist, with both Symphony Orchestra & Choir, is currecntly enjoying an acclaimed run in Belgium's Opera Vlaanderen.
